In the wake of an unprecedented and prolonged lockdown in India, the shift towards digital screens has become increasingly pronounced, underscoring the surging influence of OTT video streaming services. With cinema halls closed and film releases suspended nationwide, the populace has turned to the Internet for varied entertainment options. This transformation, accentuated by the growing preference of renowned stars for OTT platforms, signifies a notable evolution in consumer viewing habits. The introduced OTT platform not only caters to the demand for diverse content but also encourages user engagement through interactive features like comments and ratings. Built on the MERN stack technology, with React for the frontend and Node.js using the Express framework for the backend, this project exemplifies a seamless integration of web technologies to provide an enriched and participatory entertainment experience in the current digital landscape. As screens prepare to reopen post-lockdown, the potential impact of this shift on traditional cinema hall footfall raises concerns among industry stakeholders.
